This course will address all issues that need to be examined in a fraternity or sorority hazing case including the investigation of the case, strategies for who to sue and not sue, legal theories of the case, drafting of pleadings and discovery, depositions, anticipating the defenses and posturing the case for trial. The course will also cover how to deal with the media and how to “manage the message” in the community where the case will be tried.
David Bianchi is a trial lawyer with 40 years of experience representing clients in cases throughout Florida and the United States. He is recognized as one of the country’s most successful lawyers in fraternity hazing cases having obtained the largest fraternity hazing verdict in the country and tens of millions of dollars of settlements and jury verdicts for hazing victims and their families. He is one of the authors of Florida’s tough felony hazing law, has been an invited speaker on hazing law in Florida and elsewhere and has been interviewed by various television, radio, and newspapers on hazing issues.
1.5 General Credit
ProLawCLE will seek approval of any CLE program where the registering attorney is primarily licensed with exceptions stated below. Application is made at the time an attorney registers for a course, therefore approval may not be received at the time of broadcasting.
ProLawCLE does not seek approval in the state of Virginia.
