Course Description

This program was recorded on May 6, 2021

The COVID-19 pandemic has triggered sweeping changes in federal and state laws affecting California employers and employees. These laws are setting the foundation for long-lasting and permanent changes in our legal landscape. This course provides a detailed survey of the new laws that have been implemented in order to address the complexities and uncertainties surrounding the employer-employee relationship in the age of the pandemic. The course will cover a range of topics including statewide directives, paid sick leave, paid family and medical leave, disability discrimination and accommodation, and workplace safety laws. We will also address the legalities of mandating COVID-19 vaccines as a condition of continued employment.
