The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act was signed into law on December 22, 2017 and had immediate and far reaching impact. The problem: there are few practitioners who understand just how serious the consequences of this new legislation are on their clients. Rather than make taxes easier for US tax filers, the new laws have created a complex web that will entrap the unwary and reward handsomely those who know how best to structure themselves navigate them. We will be going over the major changes as well as strategies that will allow your clients (and yourselves) to position themselves to receive the benefits created under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
Toby Mathis is a founding partner of Anderson Law Group and current manager of Anderson’s Las Vegas office. In his work as an attorney, he has focused exclusively in areas of small business, taxation, and trusts. He sits on the board of directors for several companies and was recently appointed to the local board of Entrepreneurs’ Organization, a worldwide association of owners of successful businesses. He has authored more than 100 articles on small business topics and has written several books on good business practices, including first, second and third editions of Tax-Wise Business Ownership and 12 Steps to Running a Successful Business.
