This course will address the legal and financial aspects of Medicaid Planning and the use of trusts to protect assets from long-term care expenses. We will discuss the various ways to pay for long-term care, Medicaid home care planning, Medicaid nursing home planning, the five year look back, exempt transfers, related tax considerations, and why a Medicaid Asset Protection Trust is typically considered the gold standard for asset protection.

    Ronald Fatoullah is the principal of the New York based law firm of Ronald Fatoullah & Associates, where he practices in the areas of elder law, estate planning, Medicaid planning, trusts, wills, guardianships, estate administration and litigation and special needs planning. Mr. Fatoullah serves on the Executive Council of AARP NY. He also currently co-chairs the Board of the Alzheimer’s Association Long Island Chapter, and is the immediate past President of the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
